South Jersey Kayak Bass Fishing Club
Super moon? Not so much!
On May 6th, our moon made its closest pass to earth this year. That event, as well a full moon, should have energized the bass at Menantico Sand Ponds for our event held there on May 7th.
If this celestial event had any effect on the bass, the anglers of SJKBFC could not detect it. Many techniques were employed to try to get the finicky fish to bite but the results were somewhat disappointing.
Layne Ell's two keepers were enough to win the event. Mark Sowers and Stu Cohen both nailed solid, identically sized bass to split the lunker prize. For those paying attention, that's 2 half lunkers for Stu. Keeping chucking Stu!
Dennis Robinson, Gabe Suckey, Tom Philippi and Jim Barber measured one fish each.
Next stop on the tournament trail is Mirror Lake on 5/19
